(English Version)
Last night (17 February 2010) KEADILAN's Political Bureau held its normal weekly meeting. The Bureau discussed several matters including disciplinary cases.
Regarding Zulkifli Nordin’s case, the Political Bureau leaves it to the Disciplinary Board to make a decision and convey it to the Party as soon as possible. The Bureau requests the Board to take into account all statements made by Zulkifli through the media after the show cause letter was sent to him.
The Political Bureau took note that the Disciplinary Board had sent the show cause letter to Zulkifli by fax, email and registered post on 08 February 2010. He was requested to reply before 12 February 2010 and to indicate before 15 February 2010 his choice of date when he could meet the Board. The Board suggested either the 18 or 23 February 2010 for hearing his case.
The Disciplinary Board did not receive any reply from Zulkifli when both 12th and 15th February expired. On 16 February 2010 Zulkifli informed the media that he was unable to attend the hearing as he was going to Korea and he later sent his statement to the Secretary-General, Saifuddin Nasution.
Zulkifli went to Korea on his personal arrangement and he was not sent by the Party. The Party had no knowledge of his trip. He never informed the Disciplinary Board about it. He also never suggested an alternative date for hearing.
It appears that this is Zulkifli’s normal ploy. In a previous case he also gave the excuse that he was away from Kuala Lumpur, presumably to avoid a meeting the Disciplinary Committee then on the date fixed. Zulkifli has decided to give priority to his personal programme in Korea over attending the hearing by the Disciplinary Board for investigation and to defend himself. He should not blame anybody.

Deputy President, KEADILAN
